What Are You Running Away From?

It’s a scary thing to think about it. I’m not talking about running away from a lion in the African safari or a bear in the woods, you’re dead meat anyway if you’re in that situation… quite literally.

I’m talking about what we fear the most, what we don’t want our lives to turn into if we fall off the rails and become mediocre. Mediocrity will kill more dreams than taking risks ever will. It’s a question we rarely ask ourselves and when we do we usually stay surface level with it and never go below the surface to get to the root of what's driving us forward to achieve what we’ve set out to achieve. It can be frightening what we might discover.

It can be an uncomfortable state of mind to explore our emotions and our fears of what’s keeping us going day by day. But it’s necessary, not just to find the motive of our actions and the path we’ve taken… but to find out what we’ve been through and how it’s affected us… personally.

A hundred people might go through the same thing but all experience it differently.

All life is… is the sum total of all our sensory experiences, some feel good, some feel bad and then we die. That’s it.

Once we dig into who we are and what we’re afraid of, we start to gain a sense of why we’ve always done things the way we’ve done them. Our life path starts to make sense, you can follow the trail and look back to now, the present moment and see how we got there and can see how we want to peril ourselves forward.

After you figure out, really dig deep and find out what and maybe who you’re running away from in your mind your life will start to feel light, and life will start to feel fresh and free, like it should be.

Maybe the thing holding you back, that weight on your shoulders… is the very thing you’re not exploring but should be. The very thing that will unlock your reason for living, your purpose, pushing for the life you always wanted and deserved!

What are you running away from? The answer will most likely surprise you.

Who knows when the answer will come, who knows how it will, who knows when it will come? But be ready to write it down so you don’t forget. Keep it as a reminder so you never forget your drive to make your life better, for your children and your children’s children.

After all, it will be a world that they’re going to inherit.

Until next time,

Brody

I started this blog to share my love of self education and continious evolving. As they say “write the book you want to read, make the movie you want to watch.” I’m writing the blog posts that I want to see that other blogs are not writing about.

I’m also here to share my love of life, learning, adversity, how to be self-critical and self-aware, humility, philosophy, reading and how to become a better human being and artist.

There will be a special focus for young men and men’s mental health. How to be a man, how to navigate the world as a man how to become a better man and how to best serve yourself and others. That’s what were here for. For each other.
