Draw Your Own Path
We get scared because we are not sure how life is going to turn out. What is tomorrow going to bring? That is scary, even I get scared sometimes because I don’t know what is going to happen. There is fear of the unknown, of uncertainty. We would love it if everything we planned out would happen as we wanted, life doesn’t work like that. It’s full of surprises that sweep you off your feet, pull you from under the rug and push you in a direction you didn’t think was possible.
You have to lead yourself, in whatever direction you are going. No one is going to hold your hand and guide you. They are too busy forging their own paths. This is a blessing. You are obligated to yourself to create something beautiful, something meaningful and when your path is finished, the world can see what you have created and it can live on forever.
The best of the best of the best, the top 1% of achievers in their chosen profession have one habit that is seen in every single one of them. They never…ever conform.
They never stay in the status quo, in fact, they are always challenging the status quo through innovation, risk-taking, questioning, courage, boldness, self-discipline and an “I don’t give a fuck what you think about me,” mentality.
When you create your own path you are creating your own little world where you can shine and bring forward your best and truest self. And that’s what makes you infectious, that’s what will, as Comedian Steve Martin said, “Be so good, they can’t ignore you.” You won’t be able to be ignored. You will be a force of gravity, pulling people in your direction.
Why do something somebody has already done? That’s boring. What can you create that no one will ever be able too? There is only one of you after all, and there won’t be another. You are the only.
You are a Power of One.
Don’t follow people, don’t follow anyone. Like an artist create what is in front of you and only when you look back you will see what you have created. The path you have forged. The path you have drawn. The journey you have gone on. No one can do what you do. And that is your superpower.
